University of Illinois Public Affairs Marketing Communications Internship Cooperative

Dates: Spring 2012

Description: The Marketing Communications Internship Cooperative seeks to identify and place quality students in internships with unit coordinators who are willing to train and mentor our students. Interns will gain real-world experience through project-based and day-to-day operational work in one of the communications offices at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign.

Independent Media Center (IMC) Shows Group Assistant Booking and Promotions Intern

Dates: Spring 2012

Description: Interns will develop programs, increase the diversity of existing events and help promote all events hosted by the IMC Shows Group. Interns will schedule, book, coordinate and contract events, actively recruit artists, bands, workshops, exercise classes, etc. to be booked at the IMC, respond to artists and performers who reach out to the IMC regarding exhibit and performance options and opportunities, and publicize events through the IMC website, social networking, local online calendars, phone calls, newsletters, listserves, fliers, press releases, and more.

Independent Media Center (IMC) Shows Group Live Events Intern

Dates: Spring 2012

Description: Interns will be responsible for the successful running of live events hosted at the IMC. Interns will set up, put away and operate sound and lighting equipment for live shows, provide live simulcast broadcasting of events on WRFU-LP Urbana 104.5 FM, develop audio and video documentation for later rebroadcast on WRFU and UPTV, and assist performers / artists as needed and as appropriate.

Required skills:

Burson-Marstellar Harold Burson Summer Internship Program

Location: Chicago, NYC, LA, San Francisco, Washington DC, Pittsburgh, Boston, Dallas

Description: This is a paid internship open to rising seniors, 2012 graduates, and current graduate students. A cumulative minimum GPA of 3.0 (out of 4.0) is required.

“Each intern is assigned to a client team or practice group. During the internship, students work closely with experienced industry professionals. HBSI interns are given the opportunity to work as a team member, while gaining valuable work experience. Colleagues from different specialty areas of Burson-Marsteller conduct seminars for interns each week.
